MODEL AS MUSE
For this shoot, I wanted to explore the question: What is a muse?
The Greek mythology surrounding these goddesses of art has scattered in and out of Vogue for centuries. Is musehood empowering? Disempowering? When does a muse maintain license over her (or his) own image? These questions provoke endless conversation and non-answers. Often depicted between a male artist and his female partner, the status of musehood under the microscope is an evergreen fashion relationship that will continue to compel and stir. Is it gender envy? A talent? A banality? To no answer, musehood explores one of fashion’s greatest ambivalences.
